Ingredients

For the Steak:

  • 2 ribeye or strip steaks (about 1 inch thick)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

For the Shrimp:

  • 1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

For the Cajun Garlic Butter Sauce:

  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (optional, for a creamy version)
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon

Instructions

1. Prepare the Steak:

  1. Let the steaks rest at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  2. Rub with olive oil, then season with Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  3. Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add butter and sear the steaks for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare (adjust for desired doneness).
  4. Remove from the skillet, cover with foil, and let rest.

2. Cook the Shrimp:

  1. In the same skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the shrimp, Cajun seasoning, and garlic. Sauté for 2-3 minutes, until the shrimp turn pink.
  3. Squeeze lemon juice over the shrimp, toss, and set aside.

  1. In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic, Cajun seasoning, and smoked paprika.
