Ingredients

For the Beef and Vegetables:

  • 1 lb (450g) beef sirloin, flank steak, or ground beef
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (for marinating, optional)
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 small carrot, julienned or thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup bell peppers, thinly sliced
  • 2 green onions, chopped

For the Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce (optional)
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder or 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp ginger powder or 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

For the Noodles:

  • 2 packs (3 oz each) instant ramen noodles (discard seasoning packets)
  • 2 cups water or beef broth

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Beef
    • Slice the beef thinly against the grain if using sirloin or flank steak. Toss with 2 tbsp soy sauce and set aside to marinate (optional).
  2. Cook the Noodles
    • In a medium pot, bring 2 cups of water or beef broth to a boil. Add the ramen noodles and cook for 2-3 minutes until just tender. Drain and set aside.
  3. Cook the Beef
    • Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the beef and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Stir-Fry the Vegetables
    • In the same skillet, heat the remaining 1 tbsp vegetable oil. Add the broccoli, carrots, and bell peppers. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp.
  5. Make the Sauce
    • In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes.
  6. Combine Everything
    • Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the vegetables. Pour the sauce over the beef and veggies, stirring to coat.
    • Add the cooked ramen noodles and toss to combine everything evenly.
  7. Serve
    • Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot.

Tips

  • Substitute vegetables with your favorites, like snap peas or mushrooms.
  • Use udon or soba noodles for a variation.
  • For extra flavor, sprinkle toasted sesame seeds on top.
