Ingredients
For the Chicken:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
For the Parmesan Ranch Spread:
- ½ cup ranch dressing
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
For the Crispy Parmesan Crust:
- ½ cup shredded Parmesan cheese
- ½ cup shredded provolone cheese
- ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Pat the chicken breasts dry and season both sides with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Cook the Chicken:
- Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium heat.
- Sear the chicken breasts for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- Make the Parmesan Ranch Spread:
- In a small bowl, mix the ranch dressing and grated Parmesan cheese until smooth.
- Prepare the Crispy Parmesan Topping:
- In another bowl, combine the shredded Parmesan, shredded provolone, panko breadcrumbs, and melted butter. Mix until crumbly.
- Assemble and Broil:
- Remove the chicken from the oven and spread the Parmesan ranch mixture evenly over each chicken breast.
- Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture on top of the ranch layer, pressing gently to adhere.
- Place the skillet under the broiler for 2-3 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and crispy. Watch closely to avoid burning.
- Serve:
- Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving. Pair with mashed potatoes, steamed broccoli, or a fresh side salad for a complete meal.
Tips:
- No Broiler? If your oven lacks a broiler, bake the chicken at 450°F (230°C) for an extra 5 minutes to crisp the topping.
- Cheese Variations: Swap provolone for mozzarella or Swiss cheese based on your preference.
- Marinate for More Flavor: Marinate the chicken in Italian dressing for 1-2 hours before cooking for extra flavor.
Enjoy this rich, cheesy, and perfectly crispy chicken dish, just like your favorite restaurant!
