Baked Lemon Garlic Chicken Wings are zesty, garlicky, and irresistibly crispy, making them a perfect appetizer or main dish. They’re easy to prepare and baked to golden perfection with a tangy lemon-garlic glaze.

Ingredients

For the Wings:

  • 2 lbs (900g) chicken wings, split into flats and drumettes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper

For the Lemon Garlic Glaze:

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • ¼ cup fresh lemon juice (about 2 lemons)
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

For Garnish:

  • Fresh parsley, chopped
  • Lemon slices (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top. Lightly grease the rack to prevent sticking.
  1. Prepare the Wings:
  • Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels to ensure crispiness.
  • In a large bowl, toss the wings with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
  1. Bake the Wings:
  • Arrange the wings on the prepared wire rack in a single layer. Bake for 40-45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  1. Make the Lemon Garlic Glaze:
  • While the wings bake, melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Stir in lemon juice, honey, lemon zest, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
  1. Coat the Wings:
  • Once the wings are done, transfer them to a large bowl. Pour the lemon garlic glaze over the wings and toss to coat evenly.
  1. Serve:
  • Arrange the wings on a platter, garnish with fresh parsley and lemon slices, and serve immediately.

Tips:

  • Extra Crispy Wings: For even crispier wings, pat them dry thoroughly and bake at 425°F (220°C).
  • Air Fryer Option: Cook the wings in an air fryer at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
  • Spicy Kick: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes or cayenne to the glaze for some heat.
  • Make Ahead: Marinate the wings in the seasoning blend for a few hours before baking for extra flavor.

These wings are bursting with fresh lemon and garlic flavors—perfect for game day or any gathering!
