Salmon and Prawns with Soy-Butter Sauce

Ingredients

For the Salmon and Prawns:

  • 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)
  • 12 large prawns (peeled and deveined)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

For the Soy-Butter Sauce:

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 tsp sesame oil

Optional Garnishes:

  • Chopped green onions
  • Sesame seeds

Instructions

1. Prep the Salmon and Prawns:

  1. Pat the salmon fillets and prawns dry with paper towels. Season both with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

2. Cook the Salmon:

  1. Place the salmon fillets in the skillet, skin-side down (if applicable). Cook for 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes until just cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

3. Cook the Prawns:

  1. In the same skillet, add 1 tbsp butter and the minced garlic. Cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  2. Add the prawns and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.

4. Make the Soy-Butter Sauce:

  1. In the same skillet, reduce the heat to low and add soy sauce, butter, honey, lemon juice, grated ginger, and sesame oil. Stir until the butter melts and the sauce is smooth. Let it simmer for 1-2 minutes to thicken slightly.

5. Assemble and Serve:

  1. Return the salmon and prawns to the skillet, spooning the soy-butter sauce over them.
  2. Serve immediately with steamed rice, sautéed vegetables, or a fresh salad. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds if desired.

This Salmon and Prawns with Soy-Butter Sauce dish is a delightful mix of tender, flaky salmon and succulent prawns, all wrapped in a savory, buttery glaze. Enjoy!
