Ingredients

For the Meatballs

  • 1 lb (450g) ground chicken
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (or 1 tsp dried parsley)
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Optional Sauce

  • 1 cup marinara sauce (or any preferred sauce)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven
    • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Mix the Meatball Ingredients
    • In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, garlic, parsley, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
  3. Form the Meatballs
    • Use a tablespoon or small scoop to form evenly sized meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake the Meatballs
    • Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the meatballs are golden brown and reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  5. Optional Sauce Step
    • While the meatballs are baking, heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add marinara sauce and simmer for 5 minutes. Toss the cooked meatballs in the sauce before serving.
