Air Fryer Steak

Air frying steak is a simple and efficient way to achieve a perfectly juicy and flavorful result with minimal effort. Here’s how to make air fryer steak:

Ingredients:

  • 2 ribeye, sirloin, or strip steaks (about 1 inch thick)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika (optional)
  • Fresh herbs (like thyme or rosemary) for garnish
  • Butter for topping (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Air Fryer:
Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Steaks:
    • Pat the steaks dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
    • Rub both sides of the steaks with olive oil.
    • Season generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika, or your preferred steak seasoning.
  3. Cook the Steaks:
    • Place the steaks in the air fryer basket, ensuring they’re not touching.
    • Cook at 400°F (200°C) for:
      • Medium-Rare: 8-10 minutes (flip halfway through)
      • Medium: 10-12 minutes (flip halfway through)
      • Well-Done: 12-14 minutes (flip halfway through)
Adjust time based on the thickness of the steak.
  4. Check Doneness:
Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature:
    • Medium-Rare: 135°F (57°C)
    • Medium: 145°F (63°C)
    • Well-Done: 160°F (71°C)
  5. Rest the Steaks:
Remove the steaks from the air fryer and let them rest for 5 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute for a tender result.
  6. Serve:
Top each steak with a pat of butter and garnish with fresh herbs. Serve with your favorite sides like roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a crisp salad.

Tips:

  • Allow steaks to come to room temperature before cooking for more even cooking.
  • Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket to ensure proper air circulation.
  • Experiment with seasoning blends like Cajun, herb-infused salt, or steak rubs for added flavor.

Enjoy a restaurant-quality steak right at home!
