- 1/2 tsp black pepper
For the shrimp and sauce:
- 1/2 lb (225g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup (120ml) heavy cream
- 1/4 cup (25g) grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Steak:
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (450-500°F / 230-260°C).
- Pat the steaks dry with paper towels and rub them with olive oil. Season both sides with garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Grill the steaks for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare (adjust according to desired doneness). Use a meat thermometer for accuracy:
- Rare: 125°F (52°C)
- Medium-rare: 135°F (57°C)
- Medium: 145°F (63°C)
- Well-done: 160°F (71°C).
- Remove the steaks from the grill, cover loosely with foil, and let them rest while you prepare the shrimp and sauce.
2. Sauté the Shrimp:
- Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque. Season lightly with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika.
- Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
3. Make the Creamy Sauce:
- In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in the Parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes (if using), and a pinch of salt and pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Return the shrimp to the skillet, tossing them in the sauce to coat.
4. Assemble the Dish:
- Place the grilled steak on a plate.
- Top each steak with a generous portion of sautéed shrimp and drizzle with the creamy sauce.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and extra Parmesan cheese if desired.
Serving Suggestions
- Pair with roasted potatoes, garlic mashed potatoes, or a fresh green salad.
- Add a side of steamed asparagus or sautéed spinach for a complete meal.
